Dr. Lord’s Presentation - 8pm

We’ve got another exciting meeting taking place from 6 to 9 PM on Thursday, 27 May, at Lehigh University again. Our guest speaker will be Dr. Peter Lord, Director of Process Engineering at The Hershey Company, and he’ll be talking about the Hershey plant in China. His talk is officially titled, “Global Engineering Chocolate Operations in Northern China, from Design to Plant Startup.” This is something most, if not all, of us can relate to as having experienced at some point in our careers but the allure here is that it’s about manufacturing chocolate. How cool is that?

Pride of Lions - Free Screening April 30

The Lehigh Valley Professionals section of Engineers Without Borders is hosting Dr. Bailor Barrie and showing the documentary “Pride of Lions” that he is featured in. The documentary is set in Sierra Leone and shows how students and the communities are coping in their current living conditions.

Please join us on Thursday, March 25 in the Tower located at the Lehigh University Mountaintop Campus for our next Lehigh Valley Local Section AIChE meeting. This is a good opportunity to interact with your fellow members as well as students from Lehigh University and Lafayette College. The meeting will begin at 6 pm with dinner following at 7 pm.
Our guest speaker for the event will be Professor Carol Kiely with an interesting presentation titled ‘A New Look at Lunar Soil’.

EWB-LVP Assessment Trip Recap

Where: Unitarian Universalist Church, 424 Center Street, Bethlehem, PA

The local section of Engineers Without Borders (EWB) just sent their first team of folks over to Sierra Leone to assess the situation there. They are back and ready to share with us everything that they saw and experienced on this exciting trip!

If you or anybody you know are interested in hearing about it, they are going to tell the story of their trip on March 16, 2010.

This EWB event is FREE and open to the public.
